Secretary McMahon admitted herself that only Congress could dismantle the department. The admin knows this will devastate students and teachers, but they don't care.

Last year on my birthday we rescued this skinny but sweet tabby cat. It took some patience for the other two to embrace their new brother but a year later, Toby is a comfortable happy boy & all three sleep with us every night. Deep rumbly purrs, Toby, & happy adoption day 😻

I like to use checks to write donations to certain charities because if I use electronic means (online form, eg) they’ll have my email address & then I get a zillion requests for money for the rest of my life. In learned this the hard way.

Karen Lillis keeps an eye on Pittsburgh's international grocery stores The Pittsburgh author captures the city's multicultural food scene with her new photo book, Keep an Eye on the Figs.

"The images in 'Keep an Eye on the Figs' celebrate abundance. Shelves of multi-colored soda bottles shine like jewels. A crowded lineup of sausages from every corner of Eastern Europe feels tender & alive. A produce fridge teems with lush, green bok choy….."
