We were supporting our member Jacqueline this morning for her legal challenge against Southwark council.

Her unaffordable rent is leaving her with debts but the council refuse to recognise that she is homeless😠

We are still waiting on the judgement but we will keep you updated.

Over 1.6m children are now impacted by the Two-Child Limit - 11.6% of all children

This is a cruel policy that unnecessarily drags children into deeper levels of hardship

It needs to go, and the longer it is kept, the greater the scarring effects on children's health and education will be

And the Universal Credit bill has passed. Some of the sickest people in the country will suffer needlessly more now. There is no justification, no excuse. Just ugly, cruel choices by ministers too cowardly to tax the wealthy rather than cut the poor. A shameful day for Starmer’s Labour.

Over half of London borough's larger council homes let outside bidding system A campaigner said there was 'no guarantee' if council homes were going to those most in need

Over half of a London borough’s larger council homes were let to families outside of the bidding system in the second half of last year.

A housing support group says it means there is 'no guarantee' council homes are going to those most in need.

⚠️Child poverty has reached a new record high.

1 in 3 children living in deep poverty are migrant children. That's not a coincidence.

Hostile and punitive immigration rules are driving migrant families into poverty at a disproportionate rate.

Child poverty has reached a new record high with 4.5 million children falling below the poverty line in the year to April 2024.

Our new analysis shows child poverty will rise even higher on this government’s watch - to 4.8m by the end of this parliament (2029/30) - unless it takes urgent action including scrapping the two-child limit in its forthcoming child poverty strategy and stepping back from benefit cuts.
