Quite sure the royal family thinks changing a name and banishment to a quiet life of luxury in Norfolk is sufficient punishment. I suspect the general public thinks he should probably stand trial. #PrinceAndrew

So Trump is just introducing VAT as a federal tax, but businesses won’t be able to claim it back and it will apply to everything. Including essential items like food and children’s clothing etc.

If a green politician in America has said this as a way to reduce consumption and help reduce global warming they would be absolutely destroyed by the right wing press.

Eye-opening graph. The biggest wildfire incidents in the UK don't occur when it's hottest, in high summer: they take place in April - *when landowners set fire to their grouse moors & lose control of burns.*

Time to ban moorland burning.

The architects for @manchesterairport.bsky.social need their heads examined, hundreds of millions spent on a new terminal and then design about 6 toilets in the whole thing. Got to hope they add more before transferring all T3 flights to it.

I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre Graphic artist Rebecca Burke was on the trip of a lifetime. But as she tried to leave the US she was stopped, interrogated and branded an illegal alien by ICE. Now back home, she tells others thinking...

Lots of people will be deciding not to go to US. This sort of damage takes years to repair

Don’t know if this is what he is doing but it makes more sense than the blanket tariffs he has introduced. I also think it’s about putting SME’s out of business and let big companies take market share.

Brexit has never looked quite so ruinously insane as it does right now. And it’s always been idiotic. Alone, outside the EU, needing to improve our relationship with our own continent but also terrified of the wrecking-ball lunatic in the White House. Cornered by our own β€˜sovereign’ stupidity.

Everyone should watch this. Then share it with anyone who thinks these tariffs are a good idea and won’t crush small businesses.

From the Derek Thompson in the Atlantic yesterday, β€œBy the numbers, the tariffs are less an expression of economic theory and more a Dadaist art piece about the meaninglessness of expertise.” So that is….not comforting.
