09.03.2025 10:51 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Gigantic squasage roll. Iβm here for that.
05.03.2025 19:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So, a square sausage roll?
05.03.2025 19:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is brilliant! What a powerful statement: βI am treated in a fair and inclusive way, irrespective of who I amβ. Yes please π
12.02.2025 14:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's like how everybody gets headaches sometimes, but some people have to get diagnosed with a headache disorder.
11.02.2025 13:18 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Good suggestion thank you x
11.02.2025 21:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Argh. Isnβt this just so infuriating?!
Them: βBe your whole self and advocate for yourselfβ
You <advocates>
Them: NOT LIKE THAT!!
Every autistic person I know has experienced some version of this. Usually many times. π’
Itβs a fair point, but that takes energy. And if you happen to be frequently misunderstood then complaining to medical care providers can feel risky. People who donβt experience this might want to reflect on the privilege they have of not being often misinterpreted π’
11.02.2025 21:27 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0i sometimes feel sad about how much autism spectrum disorder people's potential gets squandered because of basic difficulties managing the aspects of life that others take for granted
10.02.2025 20:47 β π 259 π 18 π¬ 11 π 1Thank for your reply! Iβm
sorry about your bad experience. I think whatβs not seen is the impact. Iβve put off going to GP for a non urgent issue for 1 yr + now. Partly because of difficulty phoning. Lots of drs seem to think all autistic people have LD, when most donβt, but we do still struggle.
I am autistic. I select the βtext pleaseβ option for how I want a reply. So either they just cold call me, or they text me asking me to ring reception. I use the online because I find phone calls to GP hard!! Once the text reply complained I used online for non urgent problem. Phone only for those!
11.02.2025 20:55 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If you want to win an election against far right opposition you need to bring together two groups. The activated liberals outraged by the other side and the more moderate groups who want govt to make their lives less difficult. Not by trying to win the enthusiastic supporters of the other side.
09.02.2025 10:22 β π 2255 π 421 π¬ 42 π 22Autistic life is no matter what you say to someone you will be wrong. Even when you're right, because you struggle to explain yourself you get dismissed. It's painful because deep down you know you're right and theyβre wrong.

18.01.2025 15:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh mine did this too! One of them asked me with a patronising head tilt βDo you often feel sad like thisβ after they weighed my baby, & were shocked when I replied βOnly when you come and weigh the baby and they still havenβt grown.β Perfectly normal reaction to stress when sleep deprived Iβd say. π€·ββοΈ

Adjusting to a late in life autism diagnosis (six years on).
Iβm Autistic in my dreams now.
Challenging structural and attitudinal barriers has filtered into every part of my being.
Sometimes I wake up having advocated for myself in my sleep.
I get lots of practice in my waking hours too.
