This original desire for the Lakers logo when they moved to LA in 1959. That giraffe has seen some ish.

I'm just learning now about the mythical LA Lakers giraffe logo from their first season in LA?

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

This reminds me of the time a friend ordered a Bloody Mary and it was garnished with a hunk of steak, a hard-boiled egg, and some onion rings on a skewer along side some bacon and celery in the glass. It was ridiculous.

Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

I liked it. Pattinson was likable, relatable even. Mark Ruffalo was so off-putting. Was it supposed to be a comedy? I thought it was more of a commentary on being replaceable in a corporate theocracy. I’m a sucker for a happy ending though.

I think there’s a quote from Harvey Dent. Something along the lines of β€œYou either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

A common misconception is that most minimum wage workers are teenagers; in fact, 82 percent are age 20 or older. And older workers are more likely to be parents. Raising Oklahoman's minimum wage would provide direct and indirect benefit to more than 320,000 residents.

@aoc.bsky.social: "Listen, if your representative is not doing a town hall, give me a ring... I'll say it right here, right now: if a deep red Republican district wants to have an honest conversation, even if it's with someone they disagree with, I'm willing to do that."

Not only that. He was her manager while they were married and was stealing from her. He still was awarded alimony in the divorce. She sued him for the fees he took and won $2.6m though. She deserves better.

Oklahoma evictions are fast and cheap. Legislation aims to change that Oklahoma has one of the shortest eviction timelines in the country with some of the cheapest filing fees.

Homelessness is on the rise in Oklahoma. And while there are several reasons for the upward trend, service providers cite eviction as a common catalyst.

Tweet from CNN's Manu Raju:
Some Rs acknowledge that there could be higher prices with Trump’s Mexico and Canada tariffs but believe their constituents would be willing to stomach that to back Trump’s policies.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin told me "of course" he's worried tariffs could impact his state but argued that his constituents are willing to "do what it takes" to support the president's policy.

"Are the American people ready to get the country back on track and do what it takes to make that happen? Absolutely…
It’s going to affect a lot of companies. We’re going to have to adjust some prices for it, but the president is tired of people taking advantage of our country.”

Asked if his constituents are ready to pay higher prices, Mullin said: β€œI think our constituents are going to do what it takes to get America back on track. We’re tired of countries taking advantage of us.”

Rep. Mark Alford of Missouri told me he thinks tariffs are "going to have an impact," particularly on farmers, though he said he expects some "offsets" to the costs by increasing domestic energy production.

(Also, Elon Musk is an idiot.)

Judge finds Wyoming unconstitutionally underfunded public schools, orders remedy - WyoFile The much-anticipated ruling in a lawsuit initiated by the Wyoming Education Association is likely to land like a bombshell in the statehouse where lawmakers are currently pursuing further cuts.

Interesting article out of Wyoming. They’re ranked 40th in education, which is better than Oklahoma. πŸ€”
