Fionn, Dandy and Astarion's son, is an alchemist and artificer with a fondness for carnivorous plants. His favourite is a highly aggressive specimen that he's raised since he was a child. It really is a miracle he still has all his fingers.

a two panel limited colour comic of Julien Davinos and Occtis Tachonis from Critical Role campaign 4. Occtis is sat on the ground covered in blood and looking up at Julien who is standing above him.

When I started sketching a tribute poster for "Frankenstein" I abandoned my original idea for a different approach, but I could not let it go. So, as a catharsis of sorts, here is my second tributer poster for @realgdt.bsky.social film, inspired by DalΓ's iconic painting. #Frankenstein #posterdesign

digital fan art of Essek and Caleb from Critical Role, at Jester and Fjord's wedding, sitting on a bench and kissing.
Essek is a young-looking slender dark elf with light lavender skin and shoulder-length white hair, which is artfully curled and pinned back. Caleb is a light-skinned thin human in his early forties, with auburn chin-length wavy hair and a full beard.
they are both dressed in formal clothing, cream and light pink to match the colors Jester had picked for her wedding. Essek is wearing a silk shirt with bishop sleeves and a straight neckline that exposes his neck and a wide pearl choker; he also has slacks on, short enough to reveal his boots with metal toe-tips, as well as a coat made of thick matte fabric, with wide geometric shoulders and layered hanging sleeves. it is caught at the waist with a wide sash, the coat's two floral frog closures open. Caleb is dressed in form-fitting pants tucked into white boots, a leather strap around one of his thighs. he has a long-sleeved shirt on under a light pink sleeveless coat made of delicate floral brocade. there is a large white flower tucked behind his ear. both of them are wearing a bit of make-up: Essek has white lipstick on his bottom lip, and Caleb's eyes are accentuated with fiery red eyeshadow.
they are sitting on a bench outside, leaning into each other, Essek placing a kiss on the corner of Caleb's mouth. Essek's left hand is guiding Caleb's chin towards him with a delicate finger, while his right is resting in Caleb's left. there is a flowering branch above them, soft pink petals lying on the white cobbled stones beneath their feet. the ocean is visible behind them, the setting sun shining right behind the couple's heads, illuminating them in warm orange glow.

β€œthis story is one that’s held my heart in it’s hands since i read it, and the love that rests in the tissue of this film is so ladden. i’m forever greatful to live in a time where i’ve grown up with literature and film such as this, and as an artist during a time of fear and monstrosity, who is also the child of mexican immigrants, even more so.

thank you for allowing me to forgive myself for being as i am, and reminding me that there is life within me.

thank you, guillermo.
and thank you, mary.”

An art piece of Frankenstein's creation admiring a monarch butterfly perched on his finger. He stands outdoors in front of a field, and there are blurred out branches in the foreground. the whole piece is colored in varying shades of greenish beige with a few bright yellows and oranges in his eyes, the butterfly, and the flower field in the background.

reposted text post from the user's tumblr, about the 2025 'Frankenstein' film, that goes as follows:

there’s so much to say, but i think the decision to make the creature immortal is really intriguing to me. the creature's story and victor’s parallel to prometheus and his punishment for bringing life and humanity to beings that cannot die, and how that’s mirrored onto the creature as much as the creator.

beyond victor’s longing to cheat death and to possess the eternal, the horror comes not only in the fact alone that he can do it but in that he got exactly what he wanted. something that can succeed pain and suffering physically, but in doing so suffers all the more in ways it cannot mend alone. and that frustration the creature feels (in the film) is not on the fact that victor possesses what the creature can’t, but in not being understood or accepted in victor’s mind as more than what he simply is β€” a thinking feeling thing. and in his denial of seeing life in him, he denies it everywhere else; in himself and his peers, as well as in elizabeth as a thinking woman, one whose heart he finds himself frustrated in not being able to possess. not to mention the dead and dying that he used in his research, whose bodies were tore into and pillaged to amalgamate into a living being β€” that, even as a collective, can not be recognized as a man.

[...] rather than leaving the fate of the creature without closure and with things left unsaid, there's at least a moment between them where they can talk as people, and for victor to recognize what he really achieved β€” in asking for forgiveness both for what he did to the creature, but also for the loathing the creature feels for himself, knowing that that came victor as well. [...] even while the creature was something created to succeed death as a natural part of life, it possess the ability to do what victor was unable to do, which is to live and find worth to life while it is still there, and even long after it is gone.

decided to make a more formal text post about my thoughts from earlier about the frankenstein film (with more wording and proper grammar). this film's definitely going to be in my mind for a while.

you could see all the subtle choices he made through a creature actively learning from the world around him, all the while making him a sensitive being in spite of his immortality. when he curls away from the brightness of the sun, or flinches from fear, my heart is torn in shreds everytime :(

also (on another note), elordi really stunned me. to follow a reign of creature performances from dave jones and not only match that, but to bring a voice to such a character so carefully, it’s something else.

We're socialized to constantly apologize for being too outwardly excited about things, but this world is so full of terror and misery that I'd rather see those bursts of light and passion shine through the cracks wherever you can find them.
