Rule 52: Justifying Biking Investment
Bike infrastructure brings health, equity, & economic gains. Bike commuters have a 41% lower risk of early death & 40% are low income. Bike projects also create 2x more jobs than road projects.

Ocean Ramsey perpetuated this common trope in ocean conservation:
Whites are the heroes
Asians are the villains
Black/browns are the victims, and dont know what's best for themselves

a close up of what looks like a tuft of flower buds that are pale blue and pearly gray that are radiating from a thick white base as if it's an unusual stationary sea creature
a heavy white trunk is erupting from a dirty yellow base to support crinkly pink nodules along its stubby arms somewhat like an illustration of a stylized tree
there is a highly irregular, almost velvet-like green palm-shaped surface covered in warts of tissue that seems like it's attached to a sturdy white base as if it was a sea creature that lives stationary on a rock
Scientists have completed the largest survey of soft coral diversity ever conducted. Their results show that soft corals have been radiating in a small corner of what was once a giant sea.

Rep. Laurel Libby, R-Auburn, recently used my second-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, and that of my teammate in the 800-meter run, to malign Soren Stark-Chessa, the trans-identified athlete who finished first. One of the reasons I chose to run cross-country and track is the community: Teammates cheering each other on, athletes from different schools coming together, and the fact that personal improvement is valued as much as, if not more than, the place we finish. Last Friday, I ran the fastest 1,600-meter race I have ever run in middle school or high school track and earned varsity status by my schoolโs standards. I am extremely proud of the effort I put into the race and the time that I achieved. The fact that someone else finished in front of me didnโt diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I donโt feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points. We are all just kids trying to make our way through high school. Participating in sports is the highlight of high school for some kids. No one was harmed by Sorenโs participation in the girlsโ track meet, but we are all harmed by the hateful rhetoric of bullies, like Rep. Libby, who want to take sports away from some kids just because of who they are. Anelise Feldman Freshman, Yarmouth High School Yarmouth
this is a letter to the editor from a high school track runner who came in second to a trans girl in a race. her state house rep in maine started talking about it. so she wrote this: www.pressherald.com/2025/05/14/r...

If Republicans were truly concerned about getting women to have babies, they wouldnโt cut SNAP or leave Americaโs poorest children behind in their CTC proposal.
Our children are worth every dime.
DAV statement on the proposal to rename Veterans Day: No.
When confronted by Trump, so many people and organizations look to polling for guidance, get paralyzed, talk in circles or just fold like a cheap suit. Disabled American Veterans, on the other hand, has taken the right approach. This is how you respond.

5/ itโs too late
They might sound different but do not be deceived, they all have the same goal: to delay climate action as long as possible.
I keep seeing heartbreaking stories about people who spend years in grad school, apply to jobs, and only then learn that their dream job needs a skill they didnโt learn during grad school.
Looking at job ads *now*, years before youโre applying, can help identify skills to develop.

BREAKING: Hundreds of Jews and allies have taken over Trump Tower chanting โWe want justice, you say how. Bring Mahmoud home now!โ and โFight Nazis, not students.โ
The civil disobedience is spawned by the ICE arrest of Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil.
