The cover features a lake as the background, with black and white zebrafish in the center, symbolizing melanin changes. The design draws on the Chinese "Tai Chi" symbol, representing cyclicality in traditional culture. Surrounding the center is the amino acid sequence of the MCH cyclic peptide, highlighting its regulatory role in this cycle. The outermost layer includes the reflections of the sun and moon, symbolizing the transition between sleep and wakefulness.
The cover of the May 2025 issue of JBC illustrates how the MCH cyclic peptide in zebrafish connects sleep pressure & melanin degradation, reflecting a cyclical process.
