Like the idea of the Legion of Stationery would be much more novel without the weight of the previous games having some of the most creative and memorable villains in the franchise.

Honestly, I feel like an RPG with a story centered around the characters being self-aware that they are made out of paper could work if it was a completely original series, not a series that was already known for having distinctly non-paper-related stories.

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them

If anything, “Bobby” is still a relatively generic name. It kinda gives off “just a guy” energy which was kinda the whole point anyway. It would still absolutely drive the point across that he’s “just a Bob-omb”.

At this point, I feel like his name was more of a case where he wasn’t allowed to have a name rather than it being a deliberate decision for the story. I don’t think him having the official name “Bobby” would’ve made it any less impactful.

I have never seen a character whose official name is as neglected by fans as much as his (which is honestly understandable)

Notice how it’s regular Bowser, regular Luigi, etc. and not “Paper Bowser”, “Paper Luigi”, etc.

It’s almost like Nintendo has always considered these games to be canon
