To be honest, it's always about making paintings, Christoph! (I think I wish I was one!) It's the transformation bit - I think I'm one of those Photo-Secessionist types - pictorialism, he cried! (Much to the disgust of the modernists) 😆

I've just watched this myself finally (having always loved the poster since I was a nipper) so was taken aback to discover the monsters in question were not caterpillars, but snails!

I’ll leave you guessing how these ‘paperweights’ images were made, though a 4K webcam was certainly in the mix!

Hello Andy - I enjoyed this film a lot. Strongest horror film for a while; amazing performance from Sally Hawkins (her character had me shouting at the screen) - really gnarly in places and also terribly sad.

I tried to make ‘flowers of fire’ without burning down the house: big bowls of soapy water and lots of bubbles gave me shimmering planes and delicate sparks to photograph — like the last traces of a firework display.
