So true. Virginia votes every year, but for different offices and political environments. @chaznuttycombe.bsky.social seems to have sorted this out better than the others.

Interesting. I hadn’t heard that. It certainly applies in most places I canvass.

Virginians I canvass vote for candidates of different races, ethnicities, and religions other than their own. We get the best candidates as a result.

This campaign had the best coordination I’ve seen at the top and with the delegate candidates. I always canvassed for the entire ticket.

And if Mike Jones — or any office-holder — wins, then THEY need to be replaced. More voting for us!

Depending on how far back you go, good idea to consider air quotes around “Democrats“

After big election win, party in power thinks it was total endorsement of world view

Dems thought it after 2020

GOP thought it after 2024

Reality is Americans have lot of different views

Many voters lend support temporarily

Good for both parties to keep that in mind

A Spanish speaking voter I canvassed was impressed by Spanberger’s Spanish language ad. Said she did it well.

The anti-Jones ads during football games broadcast in Hampton Roads may have gone too far and eventually helped him. I understand that they were ubiquitous.

I’m working on my selfie skills here with Sen. Kannan Srinivasan and his wife, as well as Del. JJ Singh at JJ’s swearing in today. It was a great event (aside from my photography 🤣. Their victories protected our majorities!

It was great to hear @spanbergerforva.bsky.social ‘s plans to win her race for governor in Alexandria last night. We appreciate her call for us to support Democrats to Go and Dining for Delegates!

I’m thinking the campaign in the special was more focused on high propensity Democrats than the 11/5 general, knowing the turnout would be smaller. So fun to compare 11/5 with 1/7, but that’s about it. Of course, we needed cold weather canvassers to make it work for 1/7/25!
