Here we have DINOSAUR for the NEC PC-8801, released in 1990 (some sources say 1989), DINOSAUR was developed by Falcom, it’s one of their first turn based games ever, and is notable for not featuring ANY actual dinosaurs

Today’s job was updating the squirrel guy, making him a back sprite and animating both. I think I did a good job, keeping my pixel art practice on the simple side is keeping me on it

Left is the official pikachu sprite from Pokemon Yellow for GBC (used as reference), right is a squirrel pokemon (supposed to be Greedant specifically but imo it could work for other squirrel ones)

Okay so after sleeping on it I might be shilling the HELL out of Pipistrello. It’s a cute, fun, action adventure game with some light platforming and fun puzzle solving. It’s gotten great reviews but we need MORE 😈😈

I’m sure some people will have knee jerk reactions to this with the words “asset generation” but procedural has been around for decades. It doesn’t scrape art to try to create something based off that, it uses set parameters by artists to generate randomness (very much short handed description lol)

Lies of P might actually just be goated, it’s such a fun game. I really think these guys made something genuinely special, a Soulslike but with its own identity. It genuinely feels inspired by Souls rather than Souls with a weird gimmick. All props to the devs, I love this game
