There’s something strange in the neighborhood this Halloween season.

Terror sentinels can’t possess inanimate objects. They can hide in them/move the object in a basic ways, but they can’t truly bring it to life. There is a different type of entity that can and its a nasty little ball of hyperactive trouble! Imagine: getting chased by a vacuum cleaner with attitude!

With Gozer and Garaka both contained on Earth, other players (demi-gods, demons, forgotten old ones, fallen angels and even some old familiar faces with grudges) are warring in the power vacuum in the spirit world and the mortal world is a safe haven of sorts for all kinds of horrors…for now…

The more proud and arrogant they were the more he would enjoy knocking them down a peg or ten. He’s dragged off more than his share of human mortal magicians to unsavory fates in his time or those who tried to reneg on a bargain.

Per the terms of his asylum in Earth, he’s forbidden from haunting anyone or possessing a human host.

Given the status of the ghost world right now (big power plays) he’d rather not jeopardize his existence there or risk eternal jail here.

He used to enjoy haunting power hungry occultists.

Considering that my name is my furry name in our system at work, in my work signature, and everyone calls at work and elsewhere calls me by my furry name, that if anyone called my IRL name I would likely not respond to it or freeze as my brain goes “Who?”

So we’ve basically been told we’re stuck working all weekend.

Some wars cannot be won unfortunately; there will always be cruelty. But the darkness can be staunched back by loving and supporting each other across boundaries.

Now there are the Titans and Dog Soldiers....those are literally a whole different kind of beast that would likely be able to survive such harsh conditions.

Mine aren't quite that tough lol. Its like Astarion says:

"Well, apparently there's a limit. Somewhere between a nice summer's day and the FULL CONCENTRATED POWER OF THE SUN!!!"

So many stereotypes are alive in that world. A lot of cultural tension too and racism on both sides. Its a legal and cultural powerkeg atm.

While my werewolves aren't influenced by the environment (I really like that idea again!) they do come in all kinds of different appearances called morphs and for unknown reasons some resemble wolves, others domestic dogs and some even resemble bear-like canines!

Standard werewolf body temperature is about 109.9. Lethal for an adult human but normal for them. They run hotter because of their metabolic rates, shifters tend to run a bit warmer due to their ability to shift. They run the risk of overheating in really hot summers but do OK most of the time.

That's something writers need to consider when creating a creature of any kind: How they could physically exist and what those traits bring, both in terms of benefits and challenges!

Mine aren't affected by the full moon, but the bar scenes and party scenes will throw full moon parties to play off the stereotype for a drunken rowdy good time (humans are invited too! Lots of neon and laser lights...fun times). The werewolf astronomers get a bit tired of the assumptions though...

Ash's older sister was fully human while her parents and two brothers were all werewolves!

Werewolves are (minus the one exception) naturally born to parents and families. Rarely, even human families can have a werewolf child if a family member in the past was a werewolf or even werewolf families can have a fully human child! Its rare but it happens!

That's a really cool take on the transformation: Environmental influence!

Werewolves don't make other werewolves in my universe; a bite will kill a normal human and does nothing but damage a werewolf...there's a single known exception to that rule.

Some character examples from the series of each type:

2.) Full Generations: Max Mullen, Ash Riley, Rakinos, John Carrey. Joe Cairnwood.

3.) Partial Dormants: Devon

3.) Partial Dormants: Werewolves who overall look human but retain some wolf like traits (teeth, ears, enhanced senses) but they can not shift into a wolf form. Sort of a biology reflection of what a Full Generations is. Extremely rare. Only one is met in the books so far and he’s a cool dude!

Good question! There are three types of werewolves:

1.) Shifters (who can voluntarily change back at forth at will at any time and can stay in whichever form they want for as long as they want. Most common type.

2.) Full Generations: Born and live in wolf form. Has no human form. Can’t shift.
