Makes sense! Thanks for the help. I'll share if I find anything different. Please do the same :)

13.09.2025 17:38 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks for the insight! Lol, and that brings us back to the original question. Do you think more people initially experienced Gundam via the trilogy or the TV series?
13.09.2025 17:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sorry. That was worded really weird due to character limits and rewriting because of it. But yeah. Different release dates for each movie.
12.09.2025 17:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The trilogy hit theaters in '81 just over a year after the show's original run and ended in '82. Overall, it did decent business at box office. Movie 3 was even the 4th highest-grossing Japanese film of its year. According to this image, it seems reruns started in '81. But I don't have hard dates.
12.09.2025 17:01 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0@toysdream.bsky.social Hello! Gundam question for you. How do you think the average viewer was introduced to Gundam back in the late '70s/early '80s? The TV series didn't do well and ended prematurely. So would the compilation films have been the first experience for most? Or TV reruns or novels?

24.02.2025 11:00 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The fight with Sukunaoni in Episode 16 of Ultraman Tiga is one of my favorite fights of its series. Along with the the hints of humor, it's moody and there's a lot of creativity at work here. Same can be said for the episode as a whole.
