Here are a few of my rescue dogs from over the years. Three came from a high-kill shelter and two were tossed from a car.

I had to say goodbye to Sammi this weekend. The cancer was making it too hard for her to breathe. 14 years of love, loyalty, silliness, and joy. She was an amazing dog. I love you, Sammi. 💔

Sammi had another checkup today with her oncologist. Her current treatment is working to keep the lung metastasis from spreading, which was welcome news. She continues to have trouble with spontaneous pneumothorax, so we take everything day by day.

"Continue to fight"? Are you serious? You caved. I think you meant "continue to capitulate."

When push came to shove, here are the cowards who decided to give fascism a helping hand.

Sammi’s trip to the oncologist was a tough one. The cancer has already spread to her lungs. We’re switching to a new medication to try and slow the progression. In the meantime, we will be taking Sammi on as many adventures as she wants.

She’s really starting to get the hang of it. I was nervous because she’s older and has arthritis in her back legs, but she’s getting around pretty good. Her other legs are getting stronger every day.

She recently lost a leg to bone cancer. This picture was her first trip in her new wagon. She loved it.

Sammi started chemo yesterday. So far, tests have shown no signs of metastasis, which is a big relief. Such a good girl.
