Demand is, of course, manipulated. But if people make the choice to no longer purchase a product it will cease to exist.

I clearly stated that animal products are not necessary, they aren’t, and where we have a choice, veganism is the morally correct and, given impacts on the environment, practical choice.

It is the consumer that has to change. Producers will not, unless consumers make them. Consequently, focusing on individuals is exactly the right strategy.
