Such a fun day. Very Chikorita filled, we played Who’s that Pokemon and made the man at the counter wee himself with laughter, and watched the VGC finals with ice cream

I have liked most of the upgrades I’ve personally played, even playing Switch 1 games on the 2 feels better. But I really want something more than just reselling games to us that we already own

As a media studies girlie (first class degree hello) I feel like I could write an essay on how postmodernism has made companies chase money through nostalgia rather than taking a risk and appealing to an audience through a craft. I could legit go on for days

It’s not just Nintendo, and it’s not just the gaming industry either. I’m tired of us just remaking and rebooting things. Making new things is a risk and doing something already done before is a cheat code to make money and please audiences. But I can’t help wanting something new

There was a bit of a grace period but you’d think we’d have more Switch 2 exclusives by now. Great for people who still have Switch 1s, don’t get me wrong, I’m just yearning for my £400 console I bought to be put to the test with new, original content

They have such potential with the Switch 2, and it feels like they’re just using it to make people double, even triple, dip. Maybe they’re padding things out because the Switch 2 came out earlier than they wanted? Who knows

I’m sure today’s Nintendo Direct was super hype for some people, and I really hope others are getting what they want

Can’t help but think that they’re getting good at reselling to us what we already own. I understand some remasters now the Switch 2 is here, but where are the OG titles?
