A privilege to be at the RCPsych yesterday to celebrate the life & work of Dr Aggrey Burke, & hear from the outstanding three medical students awarded the inaugural Fellowship named after him. The first Black Consultant Psychiatrist in the UK, his legacy in deep & enduring.

Thank you to Professor Emmanuel Peters & her PICuP team for showing me around this afternoon. The Psychological Interventions Clinic for outpatients with Psychosis has set an international standard for developing & delivering their evidence-based care models & training.

Our chapter on inpatient treatment is now out in the new edition of the Oxford Textbook of Community Mental Health. Thanks to the chapters first author, & my old mentor Dr Frank Holloway for leading this throughout 🙏

Visited our #SLAM national Self-Harm Out-Patient Sevice (SHOPS) yesterday. A unique evidence-based model providing 2 years intensive longer-term psychotherapy for adults experiencing complex & enduring problems relating to self-harm or other forms of self-destructiveness.

Really moved by a visit on Friday to our SLAM START team for individuals who are homeless. An incredibly passionate & dedicated team doing the right thing day in & out with some of the most vulnerable people. Thank you Dr Jenny Drife & team ❤️.
