I grew up convinced my generation would do better and be better under such circumstances. It has been both infuriating and depressing in equal measure to have been proven so spectacularly wrong.

A great article about what a good plan is. It establishes goals for the future (not today), the desired outcomes (not time-frames/deadlines), and it is both clear and firm in the path to accomplishing these. I would only add a Portuguese context-specific point: that it can be easily implemented.

Yes, @brenttoderian.bsky.social ! Let’s all start #NamingΓ€ndFaming the competent, creative risk-takers leading our own cities. These mayors or city councilors feed off of our continuing support. #ClimateInfluence

We are psyched to do this for @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social , in my own city :-)

Also worth noting that we know the solutions for these problems, and we have a large amount of extremely strong evidence proving that they are very solvable issues, but we choose to let corporate interests and the super rich keep us from living better lives

Follow @noelcaslercomedy.bsky.social for the truth about Trump during the Apprentice days. He was there, tells it like it was - and oddly has never been sued by Trump. Because he has receipts.

Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Wednesday, 12/3/25. I implore you to watch this video detailing the one-man gaslighting campaign that denied North America the proper bike infrastructure it needed. So well done, the 90 minutes will pass in an instant -

Better public transport, better places for pedestrians and better cycle ways/ cycle friendly junctions all go together.

So, a new metro network in Paris could also see more people cycling.
A better bus service in #Oxford could see more people cycling.

Let's get joined up!

I assume this is what they affectionately refer to as gaslighting.

I’m on a mission to make common sense actually mean common sense again. At least in the context of cities and better city-building.

And so far, our answers suck.

If only there had been signs that a group of below average men who espouse misogynist views and are led by an adjudicated rapist would treat their female colleagues poorly.

You’re not wrong, but we see that much more clearly from Canada than they do in the United States. A good chunk of their population never saw any of that on Fox News, and actually still believe that he was a successful businessman, in good part because of The Apprentice. A scary effective bubble.

Urbanists are people dedicated to making EVERYONE'S lives better. It really is a joy to read about successes all over the world to show momentum is building for a better future.

And if they’d formed government, ghouls like Dallas Brodie, Tara Armstrong, and Brent Chapman could have been Cabinet ministers.

Yeah...but he was publicly indecent and despicable in his first term. I dont accept that any American voter was ignorant to his repellant lack of ethics. Their rugged individualism has metastisized into delusional egocentrism.

10 Keys to Making A Great City Plan Too many city plans represent business-as-usual, sit on a shelf collecting dust, or miss the chance to reflect a truly game-changing moment in the direction of a city. Want your new city plan process ...

Remember this one? I wrote β€œ10 Keys to Making A Great City Plan” 10 years ago in @planetizen.bsky.social to give important advice to cities, and I generally still stand by it today, notwithstanding a few revisions and updates. But f*ck the Gretzky quote, since wow is that guy COMPLETELY awful.

Why an Apprentice Exec Broke His Silence About Donald Trump: β€œHe Would Like to Be a Dictator” In an interview with VF, former NBC chief marketing officer John Miller regrets mythologizing Trump’s business savvy and recalls the host’s β€œracist tendencies,” creepy pageant behavior, and how he cou...

It’s worth reminding ourselves again that we wouldn’t have Trump wrecking the United States & the world were it not for NBC, AND PARTICULARLY MARK BURNETT, creating the REAL β€œBig Lie” β€” that he was a successful businessman. They also hid his racism, his β€œcreepy” (to say the least) tendencies, etc.

I think about how close British Columbia came to giving this awful β€œleader” of this awful right-wing extremist party control over the Province, just before we were faced with the crises that Trump, MAGA and the GOP have created.

Too close, would’ve been really bad, and all in the name of β€œchange.”

I think here in Germany it was never comfortable - for those capable of critical thinking.
There just were too many people who found rationalisations why they didn't have to stand up. Why what they did in their job didn't reflect on "who they were".

It's complicated. And being different is hard.

This stuff would be absolutely batshit insane in ANY country. I mean, think of the absolute worst country you could possibly think of, & this would be batshit insane there.

Trump & GOP have made it a daily occurrence in the United States, along with too many other fascist & corrupt things to count.

Hegseth, in 2016, said the US military correctly β€œwon’t follow unlawful orders”. He is now criticizing veteran Democrats and is threatening to court-martial Senator Mark Kelly for saying the same.

But yeah, No place, at least in North America, treats climate like anything remotely resembling an emergency. Not even close.
