You're welcome, always good to hang with you.
Much appreciated!! :)
12.08.2023 22:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Any mutuals interested in purchasing a very gently used 4k60 pro capture card by el gato? Itβs been in my pc for about a year but Iβve used it maaaaybe four times? Anyway let me know. It retails for roughly 250 usd, I could sell for 200.
12.08.2023 13:46 β π 3 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0They definitely did - getting rid of the archetypes made unique hero building a LOT better.
04.08.2023 00:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Got it! I've been meaning to try Masks, maybe this is what I needed to give it a try!
02.08.2023 17:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think the heavy emphasis on origin and backstory drives the narrative element you're looking for, even though the rules you were hoping to see aren't exactly there.
If you have any other questions, please let me know! 5/
They also added non-combat modifiers to each ability score, which was absent in the playtest rules. So while most checks are ability +d616, some non-combat checks will be higher due to traits or powers etc.
I like it because I think it puts more emphasis on roleplay over min-maxing 4/
The narrator section also helpfully reminds would-be storytellers, in not these specific words, but basically heroes aren't heroes all the time. They have jobs and friends unrelated to their alter-ego, so hopefully that gives narrators the nudge they need to move the game in the direction. 3/
02.08.2023 15:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0and includes various tags that can impact the narrative if the Narrator chooses to use them (and they should). The tags are diverse and aren't all combat driven - so if your character has the educator occupation, you'll get the appropriate tags that then apply to the game like Font of Information 2/
02.08.2023 15:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So as far as I can see, there aren't any specific rules for the type of non-combat event you're looking for. It would be covered more generally through the d616 mechanic driven by the Narrator.
That said - as I mention in the review, backstory is super important 1/
Appreciate your feedback! Thanks, Phil.
Truthfully this is the first superhero RPG I've read since MSHAG came out when I was a kid, so I can't directly compare - if you wanted to give me an example of what you mean, I'm happy to dig through the book and see what I can find, though!
I had the chance to review the new Marvel Multiverse RPG core book - and I really liked it. The playtest improved the product a LOT. It's out today!

Congrats @forbeck.com!
I'm working on an article on the core rulebook for the new Marvel Multiverse RPG. And reading through this press copy really makes me want to run a short-term Marvel stream to run through this game.
It looks hella fun.
Posting here seems daunting - I looked back at my x (which seems appropriate now) history and I've posted maybe 15 times in the last four months. There are a bunch of reasons for it, but maybe a fresh start is exactly what I needed!
I've seen a lot of friendly faces already, so I'm happy about that
They really are awesome!
