You know, I think the top story on Politico today should be that Trump has dementia, because in his Truth Social post from yesterday he didn’t know who was president in 2020, and blamed Biden and his appointees for rigging the election— when they weren’t in control.

In the Kasie Hunt interview by Al Franken, she blames Trump’s resurgence after the January 6 disgrace and impeachment on MAGAs and on choosing bad Democratic candidates. Yeah…sure. But no mention of the media that normalized Trump’s perfidy? Why can’t journalists admit they’re the 4th estate?

I don’t understand why media organizations are so passive and compliant. They have one job—ferret out the truth—they’re not courtiers, and Trump’s administration leaks like sieve, so journalists don’t need to purvey access journalism, getting bounced hasn’t hurt the Associated Press.

Since January 20th of this year, every time I read the morning’s headlines, it’s like getting that first post Christmas credit card bill. But every day. And with the possibility of oblivion.

I started this blue sky account, I guess like a bolt hole, or a digital disaster shelter, to remain in contact with distant friends in case Facebook becomes completely run over with bots that are screaming hate and fear at each other. Of course, we all might just be living in a simulated universe…
