Building @market.dev // many past lives // trying to ask better questions
Thanks for the constant support Dwayne!

More information on blog.market.dev.
Open source makes sense for us since so many of our customers are already active in open source communities, and are using market.dev to offer support, training and consulting packages for premium users.
More details on product bounties coming up soon too!
The hosted offering at market.dev now has simpler pricing plans designed to scale as you grow your business
03.07.2025 19:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Today, market.dev is open source
We're relaunching as an open source project under an MIT License, with a hosted offering
The goal is to give developers a combined toolkit for growing a services business - with built in landing pages, payments, CRM & contracts

26.06.2025 01:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0damn I totally forgot to reply! I donโt have a preferred pattern for those quite yet tbh, most of my data pipeline is pretty linear and every step depends on the last (ie blocking) for now
26.06.2025 01:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah I agree it has a lot in common :). DSPy lets me keep the deterministic parts as code, and the LLMs handle what theyโre best at. IMO using system prompts for specifying what you want, how you want it can lead to sometimes brittle systems that may need change as models evolve.
12.06.2025 11:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This was super cool, thanks for sharing. Answered some big questions for me.
I'm wondering if you've heard of DSPy.ai? Feels like you'd appreciate it (also its Typescript cousin, axllm axllm.dev)

10.04.2025 17:37 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Being able to have an agents ready for every workflow is one of the the unexpected design benefits of building this as a 'business in a box'
But we're not going to build these all ourselves, and the potential here is to turn into an MCP client so you can bring your own agent against your data
Here's a simple research agent concept we're building in market.dev
The landing page, lead gen forms, CRM and a contract library all come built in when you sign up, with agents tied into as many workflows as possible
Imagine a summarized digest with all the tea - new projects, builders, major releases and more - in the ecosystems you care about.
Think "Axios for open source", powered by a data pipeline across 310+ ecosystems.
We're building this now, and if you want to try it out, DM or reply below.
What if it was this easy to stay up to date with all the developer communities you care about?
28.03.2025 19:33 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Would be cool to build more stuff tied to Bsky here (open to ideas). We've been toying with the idea of a data driven weekly newsletter around the ecosystems you care about.
We're looking for some people to test some of these new concepts, so if you're open to it - reply below or DM!
Like here's an example for what's happening in and around the Bluesky / AT proto ecosystem (cc @danabra.mov / @jay.bsky.team )
explore.market.dev/ecosystems/bluesky/overview
One of the resources we built at @market.dev is a data pipeline from the most popular and emerging open source ecosystems
This pipeline is actively categorizing and sorting through millions of open source projects & their builders across 315+ developer communities.

16.03.2025 11:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I enjoy working with Next but as a Rails developer I missed being able to see all my app routes in a single file like routes.rb
So I created a quick script that I run in dev mode, it's super useful. Lots more to improve, but here's the gist if you're interested.

I think the activation energy required to go into "marketing mode" prevents a lot of builders from showing off their work
Might be cool to help them with that.
Idea:
What if marketing for open source projects was as integrated into the development process as CI/CD
A Github action triggered on every release, with some well crafted marketing materials - a blog post, maybe a thread, for you to approve / edit before posting.
This is insane ๐
