I really like @petercossins idea to have the Montmarte circuits first then the Champs after. Means you could fix things so a puncture not terminal and sets up a battle between sprinters + teams coming back and attackers.

The race should still be neutralised, the cars have no access to riders once you hit the new circuit. Potential to lose the Tour on last day (or whichever position) because you can’t get a spare bike isn’t really OK.

Very conical slag heaps in area of first few TDF stages. Good feature of race so far.

We only sign riders who are 5 ft 11’. We had to shrink Kasper.

I thought the 4 stages in the Alps two years ago (?) was the way to go. People travel once and see four stages easily by bike.

He was a good sport at the cycling writers dinner in London many years ago.

Genuinely felt for the guy with his mental block around descending. Would make for a tough time. Couldn’t find his mojo for descending listening to Mozart like Bugno did.
