Sylvan Adams 'has no role' at NSN, but does that mean he's gone for good?
Amid Adams' presence at its latest training camp, the team could not rule out whether he will be seen at races going forward.
Sylvan Adams is present at NSN's first training camp, and the team could not rule out whether he will be seen at races going forward.
While he 'has no role' at NSN (formerly IPT), does that mean he's gone for good?

Alison Jackson's surprise move to St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 has just made a bit more sense: Premier Tech confirms that it will sponsor the team for the next two years to further support Canadian cycling. Notably, not as a title sponsor, paving the way for naming rights at another team.

It's been quite noticeable in the past few weeks/months how more and more cross sections of the sport are in favour of a budget cap. You still have the richest teams and (most) agents against it, but it's becoming accepted that cycling is sleepwalking towards only having 12-14 WT teams.

It's important to note that an IPT spokesperson told me just three weeks ago: "Regarding Sylvan [Adams], at this point in time, there are no changes to his ownership or funding of the team." So, in theory, the team still has enough money to continue in 2026. But will Adams continue to do so?

One team manager sent me a message in September. "I think this winter will be a bloodbath for a lot of teams." It's turning out to be true. Arkรฉa is folding; Lotto and Intermarchรฉ merger is still in doubt; Jayco missed its initial bank guarantee; Alpecin not replaced Deceuninck; and now IPT.

Major, major doubts now if a solution can be found for the proposed new guise of Israel-Premier Tech, now that Premier Tech has announced it will not support the team in 2026. It's November 7 โ extremely, extremely difficult to find a sponsor to cough up minimum โฌ20m in the next few weeks.

Positive news: Jayco-AlUla will continue in 2026. "There is no doubt," riders on the men's and women's teams were told by manager Brent Copeland. Gerry Ryan will deposit the bank guarantee with the UCI before November 3.
