Donald Trump is now officially demolishing part of the White House to make room for his $200 million golden ballroom.

This comes as Americans can’t afford groceries and the government is still shut down.

A large, gray Volvo excavator with a pincer claw tears into the side of a white building, actively demolishing it and sending dust and debris into the air. The building, which appears to be the West Wing, is partially collapsed, with a large pile of rubble on the muddy ground. Several construction workers in yellow safety vests are on the site, and the main, undamaged White House residence is visible in the background.

This is the East Wing of the White House that Trump is having demolished to build his gaudy Mar a Lago style ballroom.

As a German, looking at it from the outside, I wonder: Why is Trump fighting a war against Americans? Doesn't he know they're heavily armed? Doesn't he know his fellow citizens are lightning fast out on the streets, protesting, when he farts the wrong way?

It is puzzling, because he can't win this.

Turning the military on citizens.

Attempting to rig elections.

Toying with the idea of declaring martial law.

Attacking political enemies and punishing those who speak out.
