720p can work but I agree I can't VHS or DVD any longer. Just looks smeared. Also DVD sucked from the get go. Good riddance. Latest Alien suffered from too much detail IMO.

Art without imperfections is just boring reproduction or fascism. It was one of the things the dogma rules got right back in the 90s. It's why I always prefer practical effects. There is no analogue machine to make 3D graphics. Making something entirely digital that resonates is a big feat.

Complete incoherent ramblings here. But for some reason, this doesn't apply to music the same way (except when it does)! I want maximum resolution/information in music reproduction, and retrieve more joy from it that way. Bad mixes, masters, pressings and systems seem like a waste. I'll shut up now
