My habit in #Valheim of putting a fire + workbench on top of cairns to stop spawns progressed to adding beds (for convenience), and then to storage chests, and now there's a bed-and-breakfast on top of every burial chamber.

One point about it which is always good imo is how it invites rewatching an original series, and gives us the chance to spot the default levels of sexism, etc, that we may have ingested while younger without realizing it.

Person of Interest is similar; I love the series, but wince so much now.

I started watching Dexter: Original Sin out of curiosity, and I think the show is genuinely trying to do a better job with race, gender and sexuality vs. the original run, even though some of its choices make existing dynamics (LaGuerta's early interest in Dexter in the first series, etc) rougher.

The auto repair shop is giving that a go, so I'm hopeful! The next window is 2 weeks hence. :/

In the meantime, I've done a surprise pivot into writing more of the G'raha sunbathing short and an older Exarch/Elidibus draft, so I can think about those instead and maybe make myself a nice cup of chai.

In the ongoing saga of trying to get the replacement car fixed enough to take it for inspection, the part I've been waiting on for over a week has apparently been lost by UPS.

Finally dug into the higher-price rice I picked up by mistake (koshihikari), and -- to my regret -- I can confirm that it is indeed extremely good on all counts.

I would really love for things to calm down and get sorted out so I can have a normal stretch of things for a bit, I feel I'm terminally overdue.
