I do like the idea of learning to solder however. Hypothetically, is it just moving the chips over to a new board or is there more than I'm bargaining for?

Also, after looking closer, I'm seeing the damage you're mention on the PCB. Thank you for pointing that out. I'm guessing that it's no longer salvagable?

The water damage indicator was likely scrubbed a bit when I last cleaned the board with some IPA. I do apologize, but I haven't recently cleaned it since it hasn't been working. Is there any specific damage that can be repaired?

Correct, I've also scrubbed the contacts with alcohol and a toothbrush. No water damage. I don't see any obvious damage, but I also don't know what I'm looking for. The only symptom I remember before it stopped turning on was that the battery seemed to last for only a week compared to usual
