not that things like crayola or water based inks are bad. but if youre looking for a smooth finish, alcohol based markers are the way to go for sure.

yeah, i use prismacolor and ohuhu alcohol based markers. And then i layer with prismacolour pencils (wax based pencils)

my mom got into coloring books recently and we found this "cheap" brand at a department store. 60 markers for like 30 bucks. fantastic for beginners or casual artists.

in a time where everything sucks ass, i am happy to see alcohol based markers becoming more accessible

Reference for my OC/Mascot Valentine. He is a tall, slightly muscular incubus, with pale blue skin. He has a white mullet, sharp red eyes, with white hearts instead of normal irises. Black horns that vaguely form a heart shape, and large tattered black wings. His tail is long and has a hollow black heart at the end. He wears black leather pants, held by a black belt with a heart buckle. His underwear straps are visible. He has a black body harness connected to a spiked choker. Spiked handcuffs with broken chain links, and black leather platform boots. On the front of the metal boots are metal plates with the words “hot shit” on them. The reference has two poses, one Fullbody where he has a flirtatious smirk, as he unbuckles his pants and pulls at his underwear. The other is a halfbody where he is leaning toward the viewer, a wild expression as he sticks his split tongue out and shows off his sharp teeth.
