I’m kind of speechless with this one. I can’t imagine the kind of person who continues to make the argument that it doesn’t count as real starvation if the kids were already sick.

Microsoft Excel adds Copilot Al to help ...
theverge.com
The Verget-4.1-mini Al model | 5
successor to the LABS.GENERATIVEAI function Microsoft started experimenting
with in 2023.
Microsoft notes that you can combine its new Al function with other Excel functions, including IF, SWITCH, LAMBDA, or WRAPROWS. The company adds that information sent through Excel's COPILOT function is "never" used for AI training, as "the input remains confidential and is used solely to generate your requested output."
The COPILOT function comes with a couple of limitations, as it can't access information outside your spreadsheet, and you can only use it to calculate 100 functions every 10 minutes. Microsoft also warns against using the AI function for numerical calculations or in “high-stakes scenarios” with legal, regulatory, and compliance implications, as COPILOT "can
give incorrect responses."

Good thing no one uses Microsoft Excel for anything related to legal, regulatory or compliance business functions

I'm old enough to remember when the tech world lost its shit because Pentium chips would produce an error in the ninth significant digit for an handful of calculations.

But now we're expected to just accept software with the math skills of King Arthur in "The Holy Grail"

The fact that the thing we're calling artificial intelligence *can't do math* and yet we're jamming it into programs that successfully *have done math* for decades, then warning people against using the AI to do math, seems like an excellent summary of where we are.

"How bad slavery was" is worse. Much worse. Much worse than you think, much worse than you're taught, much worse than museums depict. Worse.

Trump on TruthSocial: The Museums throughout Washington, but all over the Country are, essentially, the last remaining segment of ‘WOKE.’ The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been — Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future. We are not going to allow this to happen, and I have instructed my attorneys to go through the Museums, and start the exact same process that has been done with Colleges and Universities where tremendous progress has been made. This Country cannot be WOKE, because WOKE IS BROKE. We have the ‘HOTTEST’ Country in the World, and we want people to talk about it, including in our Museums.

If Democratic politicians do not fight this because it's a "distraction," it will simply happen. They need to get in front of every mic and say that we will not allow Trump to destroy American history. He wants a culture war? GIVE HIM ONE. There are no distractions. Have every fight.

Maryland state police should be
ARRESTING ICE agents who do this. Impound the vehicles. Force the Trump
admin to litigate. @raskin.house.gov lives here and should stand up and say this now. Along with @vanhollen.senate.gov and

Ppl this is not going to happen. State police are not going to arrest federal police. The most that can even be optimistically expected of them is that they will not assist federal police, and even that is a heavy lift, even if they are totally within their constitutional rights to do just that.

If you want to put back statues and memorials and names of Confederate traitors while tearing down museum exhibitions on slavery because they don't show the greatness of the nation... the nation whose history you're celebrating is whiteness. The kind of nationalist you are is a white nationalist.

As infuriating as the conservative SCOTUS is, never forget that America’s genocide against its trans population is the child of “moderate” liberal outlets like the Atlantic and the New York Times, and especially Jesse Singal and Katie Herzog, who made healthy careers out of polishing bigotry.

"My memory's excellent. I've never attacked a woman for not being woman enough.

Still no lawsuit.
Still no cheek swab.
Still no release of existing sex test results."

Context: She is attacking a woman, Imane Khelif, for not being "woman enough".

People are shocked by this attitude, but it was inevitable

We live in a world where the wealthy have relied on nonconsensual labor for years, everything from chattel slavery to indentured servitude to prison labor

Of course they assumed they could just steal artists' work without being questioned
