Joining the Majority Report at 12:40PM ET to talk about the AI bubble

Probably your best live interview yet. Nice job.
11.09.2025 17:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Shrimp, Spanish style - garlic lightly fried in lots of oil, some smoked paprika, and a healthy squirt of lemon juice at the end. Plus some parsley. Ate em with a toasted ciabatta cut into cubes π #food π
10.09.2025 16:21 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Normally, that's how it would work. But I'm thinking of Facebook wasting 50 billion on the Metaverse yet doing as well as ever.
I don't think misplaced AI investment will get punished until something better comes along.
My guess is there will be a large correction in the 10-20% range. And probably a lot of AI consolidation afterwards. But we won't see anything on the scale of 2008 or Dotcom.
27.08.2025 08:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As Ed noted, these companies are not making money from AI, but they are still making a lot of money - more than ever. And it's this money that can bankroll speculative AI investments.
27.08.2025 08:26 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In fairness, she was making a different point. I made the same one on the BetterOffline subreddit recently - many companies involved have monopolies that will still be in place post-crash/correction. A crash typically involves insolvencies, which cause a chain reaction. I don't see that here.
27.08.2025 08:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0There doesn't seem to be much appetite for paying more than $200/month. In fact most are on cheaper plans around $20/month. This tell us something about the true value people get from coding agents when you consider senior developers salaries are in $75-150 per hour range.
11.08.2025 09:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think you're right. They wanted a new revenue stream before their IPO and wanted it quick. Quick because AI could seriously devalue their company due to a growing trend of people skipping design and prototyping directly in code.
24.05.2025 01:38 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Looks great. I eat boat noodles once per week at least. So good! Stewed pork is really nice in this soup.
05.05.2025 06:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One of my favourite things to eat at a local Thai Muslim restaurant. It's served with some nam jim jaew (ΰΈΰΉΰΈ³ΰΈΰΈ΄ΰΉΰΈ‘ΰΉΰΈΰΉΰΈ§) dipping sauce too π

Fried rice with beef fat. Thai name is ΰΈΰΉΰΈ²ΰΈ§ΰΈΰΈ±ΰΈΰΈ‘ΰΈ±ΰΈΰΉΰΈΰΈ·ΰΉΰΈ. Not many ingredients but such a nice dish.

Small pieces of fatty beef give the dish a nice savoury flavour. The crispy shallots add texture. The rice is al dente and not mushy.
Context: someone on the BetterOffline subreddit mentioned that you can append "meaning" to all kinds of nonsense and get a serious AI reply.

I didn't have labneh, so just used Greek yoghurt with some lime, dill, and garlic. And swapped almonds for pine nuts.

Next I need to find some good beef. Options are more limited in Thailand. This is from New Zealand and is quite nice but the fat content is way too low for a great burger. I want something 25-30%.

Finally got the smooth, plastic-like finish on my smash burgers. I smashed them extra hard today and also added baking powder which is known to help meat brown and retain moisture.

Cook a gammon joint and make a stock at the same time. Use the stock in your lentil soup, & serve your soup with ham and lots of well-buttered bread π
A nice pea soup can be made in a similar way
Great video on fish cookery

Right. The economics are secondary, unless of course you're an economist like Yanis. First and foremost, Europe needs to be able to defend itself.

If you like gin, give this marmalade cocktail a go. I found it worked great with bitter orange flavour.
