Thatβs a Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax).
You can identify it by its stocky build, short neck, and the distinctive combination of gray wings, a pale belly, and a black crown and back. Its red eyes are a giveaway. These standing very still as they hunt for fish, frogs, or insects.
