Only a fairly marginal one. Towards the end of the race your deck will run out, when it does, you pick up your wake in order. So you know what cards you will draw in the final stretch, and can check anytime. It'd also nice that your wake dissipates steadily, but that is pure theme.

A fox meeple can be slid into a little speedboat meeple. 'Sena' boards hops on the flying fish.

One meeple has gone wide, skirting the table edge. The others bomb down a straight

Thr final bend, those who've gone wide are setup for the finish. Others careen off the table

Tornado Splash is a hoot, A+ table presence, as long as your table is big enough!

A Game of Occlude, cards are in columns gathered by suit descending. Some coins indicate the game state in the top right. The Punchcard level is shown.

If "Zachtonics Solitaire x The Roottrees Are Dead" isn't gobbldeygook to you, then you already know I'm telling you Occlude is great.

Possible, but I doubt it impacted the decision. I suspect the decision was made pre-final, and the reason the annoucenet was delayed was 2-fold: 1) Time to enjoy/breathe post final. 2) Contractual clauses around the complete (2nd) year mark. both points are pure speculation though.

Worth remembering there are 3 results for most games. Win, lose, and draw. ~23% of games are draws. So a Win% of 50%+ is probably winning twice as many games as you lose

good pub grub. I hope you get some fish and chips + gravy in whilst you are up north!

Ofrenda! I'm very biased but it was one of those games that during dev I would take ANY excuse to play - and I still never got near a perfect game! If you like simple drafting, family that seem to always be bickering, and a tricksy puzzle that you've made for yourself then Ofrenda is🔥

I'm delighted to see it! But that generates a fair few more questions than answers- are they trained for this purpose? Why only once? Does it have a little pannier- or do they hold it in their mouth? Why the umpire not the pitcher? Do pigs improve rotation?

What's interesting to me is that I'm sympathetic down to 4, and respect 5-6 as takes even if I think they are ultimately shortsighted. However 10 is as unreasonable to me as 3 is, i.e. out of touch with reality!
