Tumbler Ridge is grieving, and it’s important now more than ever, to put politics aside and stand in love and respect with this community in its time of mourning.

There are no right words for a moment like this. I am shocked and horrified at the tragic shooting that occurred in Tumbler Ridge. I grieve with the families who have lost a loved one. I wish for the speedy recovery of all those injured.

We hoped to see progress on proportional representation in these talks. While that did not happen, we are encouraged to see leaders keep the conversation alive.

Thank you to the BC Greens for standing up for a better democracy. The work continues.

Corporate interests have guided this industry for too long. Nobody—from environmentalists to forestry companies—is happy with what’s happening with British Columbia’s forests. There is a cost to this conflict.

Mill closures, drought, climate change, tariffs, and wildfires have shaken workers and families, and devastated towns and ecosystems. BC’s forestry industry cannot continue to function the way it has, and we cannot risk another short-term fix.

By delivering 30,000 affordable homes through Cooperation and Responsible Government Accord, the B.C. Greens are helping ensure the Rental Protection Fund keeps existing homes affordable and people rooted in their communities. This is how we prevent displacement and make sure no one is left behind.

We can protect people from housing insecurity by investing early, working with non-profit partners and centring affordability.

We’ve seen the benefits of the Foundry model in Squamish, and I’m thrilled we were able to secure funding for Foundry Pemberton. This kind of ‘no-wrong-door’ wrap-around support is foundational to the BC Greens’ approach to wellness.

The federal airport lands at YYJ could play a critical role in delivering affordable housing for local workers (and seniors) in a manner that respects the environment and community plans. I’ve been assured by the Minister of Housing that the new advisor will seriously consider the YYJ lands.

North Saanich urgently needs affordable housing, and I hope the special advisor delivers real results. I’m encouraged by the municipality’s willingness to work with the province to increase housing supply. This advisor creates an opportunity for faster input and better outcomes—but it must deliver.

BC Greens MLA @jervaler.bsky.social spent a huge amount of 2025 bringing provincial, municipal and First Nations governments together to bring regional transit to Sea-to-Sky. It was promised in our 2025 Accord with the BC NDP.

We aren't quitting yet. Not even close.

Nearly half the power from Site C is being earmarked for the Ksi Lisims LNG project at an undisclosed cost to BC Hydro ratepayers. Minister Dix wants British Columbians to be happy about it.

The Minister says it is the government’s job to ensure projects reach a final investment decision. In doing so, he is overcommitting BC to an LNG industry that is teetering on the edge of obsolescence -- major investors are actively exploring options to sell their stakes in LNG Canada.

We can move people from crisis to stability by addressing homelessness with sustained investment, strong partnerships and a clear commitment to dignity. This type of investment helps all British Columbians, and we will keep fighting to ensure no one is left behind.

By securing $30 million through our agreement with the government, the B.C. Greens are helping make sure communities like Victoria have the resources they need to move people from encampments into stable housing with ongoing support and overdose prevention services.

“BC’s climate progress, as outlined in this report, echoes much of the work the BC Greens have long argued for. The failing grades show that implementing the CleanBC review recommendations are the bare minimum, and so much more needs to be done," said Valeriote.
