Okay time for fun.
Go into your photo roll or whatever, and post the first image that makes you laugh literally out loud.
Here's mine.
Also: Of all the hand and wrist injuries I thought I would potentially develop as I age as a white collar worker
I really thought it'd be carpal tunnel
. . . and not De Quervain's tenosynovitis??
Likely brace time for me!

A little joy amidst the darkness.
Valentine’s Day: How It’s Going
I can’t imagine why in the past 5 years so many more construction mistakes and car accidents and concussions in HS football would be happening OH WAIT

Someone severed a Fios feeder line Wednesday evening. It’s a bundle of 400 cables and each line has to be spliced _by hand_
The issue also started with 1 ticket and now is on a 2nd with the original closed, which may mean it became more complicated
Date Night, Still No Effing Internet Edition: American comfort food, FFVII (old school version), bubble tea, and Sagrada.
We’ll have to catch up on Critical Role when our Internet is back.
Still no Internet, and probably not all day.
I also wasted way more time with Verizon phone and chat support than I ought, enough that the woman with 25+ years of experience on loan from the Business department is going to give a debrief on how awful this was.
Fun, ‘dynamically set’ by AI pricing based on our shopping data.
Even more ways to squeeze every penny from consumers.

How It’s Going: No Internet Edition
(The game is Sagrada.)
Major line cut due to probably local construction; no Internet for the night

on top of receiving a letter written 12/9 saying my clinician was leaving in February of next year _last week_, nearly _2 months_ after it was written
says a lot about how the medical sector is doing right now.
It also puts the patient in the _incredibly_ awkward role of having to choose between accurately reporting their experiences and thoughts, and 'being polite' to the new clinician who _isn't you_ and may get them wrong!
Do NOT add another layer of miscommunication to a patient/doctor relationship.
Setting up a structure where your patient can only report to you directly to _correct any misunderstandings a new clinician has about your symptoms or care_ leads to 2 major faults:
- putting medical training over patient care
- leaving the patient feeling like they have no continuity of care.
I know that the medical sphere is a mess right now, with way too many patients to be covered by doctors.
I know that many clinicians have a model of 'chaining' their appointments so that they can see more people in a day.
I know that training newer clinicians is essential.
This isn't about that.
As a person with complex health needs, one of my very least favorite models of appointment structure is:
Meet a completely new to me, less experienced clinician every appointment, and play a game of telephone where they sum up your report to the clinician, who replies to you directly.
Take me down to the Parallax city where the far moves slow and the near moves quickly
