For older viewers, it just reminds of us of the better past stories. For new viewers, they provided no reason to care about the returning characters. Even worse this is coming right after the 40th when it made sense to pay homage to the past. This year should’ve been all about looking forward.

I’m fine with characters making stupid decisions because, well, people are dumb but if the only way a character’s actions make sense is for the sake of the plot, I’m out. The situations may be outlandish but the characters have to be grounded in some type of reality.
