If an e-commerce site has a problem, it doesn't suddenly collapse on someone and crush them to death under it's weight. Tech bros often forget this when they try to apply "move fast and break things" to non-tech spaces. In a reasonable society, we would have guardrails preventing these disasters.

I have shelves of books about game development, and I wonder… why? Will I move them to my next house? Is this industry not in serious decline, like whale oil, or apothecaries?

When FAA employees are telling us it’s not safe to fly, we should probably listen.

Also, this endless greed by the ultra-wealthy is insane. I have enough money to impulse buy almost anything I want, and I’ve discovered that doesn’t bring me joy. This insatiable need for more is a sickness. At some point, high-EQ people find contributing to and helping others brings true joy.

The entire notion that anything other than a business should be run like a business is absolutely insane, and displays a profound shortsightedness. Governments and Society should not be run like a business. Only a heartless sociopath would want that.

I keep getting texts from Democrats decrying the state of the Nation, and then asking me for money. I am no longer convinced that the Democrats are not merely a fundraising organization to fund further fundraising. I will reward them financially when I see material progress in restoring Democracy.
