I made another little thing. It's a particle sim driving a voronoi fracture. The results then get some uvs and topology love before being shipped off to the displacement algorithms and rendered. Made in Houdini and rendered in Blender. #houdini #blender

Working on battery/charge voltage indication and low voltage deep sleep using an @adafruit.com QT Py SAMD21 and LiPo BFF. Needed to move to a breadboard so I could separate USB and battery power, monitor the readings over serial, etc.

The tiny one inch (25.4mm) Fibonacci128 perfectly fits in the front chest plate of Dummy13 printed at 200% scale. I'm working on a modified 3D model with a cutout for it in the front and a "backpack" to fit an @adafruit.com QT Py and LiPo BFF.

Fibonacci256 price drop!
I messed up when copying the listing from Tindie to Lectronz. It's fixed now, resulting in a $120 drop in price. If you'd previously taken a look at the listing, you might want to take another look. Sorry about that! ๐Ÿ˜…

Instead of pixels being only off or on you can use a wave function for brightness. The period of the wave is each pixels' radius, you get a much smoother pattern. The #Pixelblaze code is short & relatively simple: gist.github.com/jasoncoon/db...

What I find really neat about the pattern in the previous post is if you watch any pixel it just smoothly blinks off and on at the same rate the entire time. The further the pixel is from the center the faster it blinks. It's a similar "incremental drift" as a pendulum wave:

If you take all of that, use ColorWaves by LED guru Mark Kriegsman, port it to #Pixelblaze with the help of @bhencke.bsky.social, use long slow smooth wave functions for hue, saturation and value, and use color palettes instead of just shouting rainbows, you get this.

If you increment the starting LED, instead of always starting in the center at LED 0, the spirals are rotated and appear to spin. Here I'm manually changing the increment between lit LEDs.

If you increment N in small fractional steps instead of integers, you get a smooth transition between the spiral patterns.

In disc phyllotaxis, like Fibonacci256, lighting every N LEDs from the center produces a pattern. If N is from the Fibonacci sequence a spiral (or mesh of spirals) is produced because the divergence (angle of succession in a single spiral arrangement) approaches the golden ratio.
