..and take 100+ wickets in a season.
An incredibly talented player, but also a wonderful gentleman who remained a supporter in his playing retirement and during his entire spell as Club President.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this period.
It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our Club President Brian Fitch.
Our first Club Captain when Long Eaton Cricket Club reformed in 1972, Brian lead to the side to 10 evening league titles in a row and was the last player at the club to score 1000+ runs..
He will be greatly missed by so many, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
13.01.2026 19:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is with immense sadness that we share the news of the passing of our former Chairman and Vice President Tony Cuthbert.
It is near impossible to put into words Tony's tireless dedication to the club, whether as an active player, committee member, umpire or as a supporter.
With the 2025 season becoming a distant memory, we turn our attention to our 2026 campaign.
Join us on Monday evenings from the 2nd February as we begin our winter trainingπͺ
As the year ends, we look back at the players who provided us with plenty of fireworks over the course of the season- with 6 senior players finishing with 100+ strike rates π
31.12.2025 12:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Long Eaton Cricket Club is saddened to learn of the passing of Wendy Lee, who dedicated decades of her life into the successful running of our club.
Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
Even though luck wasn't on our side, there were positives to take with the individual performances of Shelley Thompson and Shelly Mee, both named as 'Player of the Match' based on the statistics in the respective fixtures.
These results mean that we finish 5th in our league.
Double defeat for our women in their final round of indoor fixtures this afternoon, both by very slim margins.
The girls began with a three run defeat in a low scoring game against Marehay CC (38 vs 41), which was then followed up by a five run loss at the hands of Eastwood Town CC (51 vs 56).
Another strong showing from our women's side today πͺ

Despite the result, there were plenty of pleasing aspects about both performances πͺ
