🧵👇
Fancy science graph depicting probability of "intentional" judgments (x axis) across 8 secular countries (y-axis: Canada, China, Czechia, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, UK, Viet Nam). Everywhere except Viet Nam, demographic shifts to atheism are seen as more intentional than are shifts towards more belief.
Single Skeet Summary:
We found evidence of an atheism Knobe effect that was evident even among atheists in secular countries. If something causes there to be *more atheists*, that's seen as more intentional than the same cause leading to *more believers*. This didn't interact w/ ppt atheism
