About 10 years ago I was at a ROH show and we scored these really cool balcony seats that were almost like private boxea, just no walls separating the boxes. We heard this dude next to us talking smart the whole night, clearly someone in the business. Next day we realized it was Necro Butcher.

I'm on my knees begging any tech/gaming journalist to correct these CEOs when they call long existing technology "AI." Text to speech isn't a new AI tech. Neither is procedural generation or voice recognition. Machine learning is not AI. Words matter.

And it's junk technology. Time and time again it has illustrated that it's not really good at doing anything. It's like we're ruining both the planet and economy to automate the role of "person at work who can't do their job, so you have check and fix all their work."

Yeah, I really like how I was able to install it with multiple DEs. My experience with Linux so far has been almost entirely GNOME based, so it was cool to just be able to pick KDE at the login screen and give it a try. Seems like it has a great community working on it too.

Linux update: I'm still happy with Debian. I think it's everything I want from an OS right now. Might even help my mom make the transition to Linux.

Took a few minutes to customize my desktop and I think it looks really nice. Especially at night when I got my lights turned blue.

Wasn't expecting this video to set off a nostalgia bomb, but boy did I just get emotional remembering Waldenbooks. I spent so many hours in Walden and man did I love it. Not just books, but RPG manuals, manga, niche interest magazines. Didn't realize how special it was to me.

I am not a snitch. That said, I can't think of a single person on this planet I wouldn't turn into the police if I found out they were involved with trafficking children. I would turn my own mother over to the police. If you're worried about politics or the economy over kids, you're a bad person.

And I love all the videos where journalists are talking to actual engineers and not marketing people. Like I learned that they designed the fan first so they knew the thermal threshold to not overheat the hardware. Just proud nerds excited about what they built.

I have my PC setup for dual boot because there's some music software I use that only runs on Windows or Mac, but for everything else I've been using Linux. It's been almost entirely a positive experience once I settled on a distro that I looked. Good luck with your de-Googling!

I've played New Vegas on every version of Windows since it released 15 years ago, and without hesitation it runs better through Proton with a vanilla install. I've found most modern games without ray tracing have better performance. Linux is now a better OS for gaming than Windows 11, full stop.

Had a Google Home device in every room of our home, Android devices, Chromecasts. Fully a Google home. Been slowly cutting all that shit out the past year or two. Using Proton for mail and calendar, Firefox and Vivaldi for browsers. Moving to Linux from Windows. I'm done fucking around w/ big tech.
