40th Anniversary of the Penlee Lifeboat Disaster - Penlee House On 19 December 1981, the Penlee Lifeboat was lost with all hands while attempting to rescue those aboard the coaster Union Star after its engines failed in heavy seas.

In December 1981, a volunteer lifeboat crew in Cornwall launched into hell to try to help a ship in distress.
None of them came back.

Lou I’m so sorry this happened to you. Like you I’ve been there myself. All rapists and abusers should be given life and serve that time. It will never compensate their victims or give them their life’s back regardless of a sentence but at least it would stop them abusing again. Such a brave woman.

So much is skewed against victims.
We see lenient sentences because a court doesn't want to "ruin a man's life".
We see defence counsel undertaking character assassination of the victim.
We see excuses such as "he was in a bad place", "he will always regret his actions"...

Rapists should be jailed for life.

Rape victims like myself are forever scarred, & the rest of our lives are forever different. Why should rapists get to enjoy the rest of their lives?

As for the rapists of Pelicot, they should get life for every time they raped her.
