12.08.2025 18:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I tried making a bunch of very complex characters in M&M, like characters who could mod their mech suit to fit situations, or reform parts of their digital body into weapons...
But then Neutron Star happened and her blunt force simplicity was so damned fun <3
Fuck yes!
Oh also Neutron Star is only 4 foot tall too.
Her origin is that a science experiement densified her. Hence the smaller and the weight.
The boots neutralise her weight so she can like.. go in buildings
She's just a wrestling fan. Its a prop belt xD
But she uses wrestling moves in combat.
She once one-shot a big bad (who was a werewolf) with a bodyslam. That was a good day.
She is, unsurprisingly, miss collateral damage.
A colourful artwork of a lady in an orange spandex wrestling outfit and orange eye mask. She has a red sidecut and big metal boots.
I mean.. it's been a while, most of my recent ones have been for the Larp, but this is one of my favourite Mutants & Masterminds characters, Neutron Star.
This wonderful artwork was done by Kassandra Leigh.
(Her power is that she weighs 800 Tonnes)
A big sheet of paper with random notes and sketches using colored markers scattered haphazardly. Various ideas are written like "Fire is grid based and spreads :(" and "Questions: real time or turn based?"
Matt found the original "brainstorming document" for FTL -
Written on a big roll of paper in his apartment in Shanghai over beers.
You can see a lot of the foundational ideas there, but this was before we even pictured having ship-to-ship combat.
Hey everyone, I'm super super excited to be able to share this upcoming crowdfund!
Me and Steph maaaaay have written the bulk of the Bestiary for this cool game and I promise there's some really cool stuff throughout this entire game!

I don't normally do 'fantasy LARP' with magic/crafting systems etc. but greatly enjoyed Dreamlands and it is very inclusive of what you want to do with your play style. I ducked the 'systems' mostly and just went around exhorting people to 'do stuff, work together, explore!' and had a lovely time.
12.08.2025 12:41 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Hi,
It's the last 48 HOURS for UNDERISLES on @kickstarter.com
So far we've managed to unlock some amazing stretch goals including an Actual Play from newly-formed @storyweave.bsky.social.
We'd love a strong finish so please pledge before time runs out!

We're very new (only done one proper event so far)
You're fairly correct in your reading. we're an ongoing larp that's fairly similar broadly to the bigger fest larps but without multiple factions and much fewer players.
You would be very welcome!
Obviously I'm busy reffing but I'm around in character to help and be supportive like 90% of the time~
I do genuinely mean it when I say that if you're a UK based follower of mine you'd be extremely welcome at our Larp!
We're super newbie friendly and our kit requirements are low so there's not too much costume needed to play!

The final 24 hours have arrived for the Dragon Slayers campaign.
Join the adventuring party and slay some dragons!

10.08.2025 16:24 β π 9117 π 2598 π¬ 84 π 83Musing a little on my relationship to innovation in ttrpgs.
I don't generally try to build like super out there stuff, I wouldn't say CobblePath pushes the boundaries of what ttrpgs are capable of.
As you might guess I am not of the position that games must do that to be valuable.
This is such a great project and yes, Locus is one of the games you can access to make your AP through this~
05.08.2025 15:36 β π 4 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0So, people are talking about ttrpg award again so I'm gonna reiterate my pitch on how an awards show that could boost smaller creators might work:
- Games can only be submitted once, but aren't date-locked.
- Awards are not limited, but are specific.
- Games can only win one award each.
We've always priced our games a little above what is typical and what we might expect, knowing that our gut is to be kinda timid with it.
I think generally a lot of folks price based on the page count but like.. it's a game. The substance isn't just on the pages.
Two months ubtil the second event of DreamLands.
I am so excited but also aaahhhhhh panic!!
Other people have responded to the main points...that D&D and in particular the "D&D lifestyle brand as a consumerist hobby" is expensive, but TRPGs by and large are very much not...but I'm going to add to this that most TRPGs, for the labor involved in their production, should be charging way more
10.08.2025 16:49 β π 159 π 27 π¬ 12 π 0In my experience there is a genuinely very small contingent of people who will avoid buying your game if its too expensive but would buy it if it was a little cheaper.
For most people it's about whether its worth spending money on at all rather than how much (within reason obvi)
I am posting this from the point of view of a creator.
Our work is chronicly undervalued and honestly I think asking customers for valuations of stuff is a way to have everything you make be given away for free.
All of our games are playable with 2 people.
Locus - Horror ttrpg, Director + Player
Stacks of Goblins - Chaotic Goblin shenanigans, gmless
Coffee & Chaos - Fail to run a cafe with your pre-existing characters, gmless.
