Rebalancing can help: large consumers pay £178/MWh. £53 of this are low carbon levies for (legacy) policy costs.

I was very pleased to attend the opening of #Harborough's new friendship park.

There was a great turn out of supporters and officers for the event.

I was pleased to have secured a plaque to celebrate our carers in the community, working unseen but appreciated by all.

Yesterday, I bumped into the crew who were out changing our @HarboroughDC owned lampposts to LED bulbs, saving money and reducing emissions.

I hope the rain was not too disruptive!

This kind of headline sounds like what is used in ethical thought experiments trying to imagine the most horrifying scenarios to be avoided no matter what the cost.

That horror is real, and it is being inflicted deliberately by the murderous, genocidal, intent of Israel.

Was this caused by Renewables, no, it was a lack of planning for this eventuality with more back up generation/Storage required and grid-forming inverters to make up for the loss of the big spinney turbines of thermal plants that have interia.

From what I understand, the issue in Spain/Portugal/South of France was to do with a power generator going offline which caused a frequency drop which took the system out of spec. Apparently most solar is deployed with grid frequency tracking inverters, so one after the other they disconnected.

Each server that hosts a ledger and performs all of these checks gets rewarded for this service in Bitcoin... This is Bitcoin mining and the reason that it takes so much power to host.
