I will have a pretty poofy ruffle dress at the end of this but I am paying the price for it.

When you get into sewing clothes for yourself you have this image of sitting peacefully at a sewing machine. Which like, yeah, that happens, but you also will spend multiple hours ironing and then later be scrambling around your apartment floor like golum laying out fabric and pattern pieces.

Thats not to say my local pride is perfect. It really isnt. The local trans group I'm part of recently had to call the organisers out on some things. And their accessibility is pretty crummy on multiple levels. But having a stall like the one I mentioned is something Im happy to praise them for. 5/5

This is great! Amazing! It wasn't there the past 2 years that I went but I hope that it becomes a running thing. Having community care like that available, and expanding the reach of people that can offer it is exactly what pride events should have. 4/5

They had people on hand to give a couple minute explanation on what Naloxone is for and how it's used. And then after signing a thing (thats mostly for being able to contact folks in the rare case of a bad batch) they were giving people a free box of two doses. 3/I'm winging it

There are ways here to get training on how to use it online that will then send you Naloxone for free. But, at pride this year there was also a stall for the organisation that I've mainly seen doing this! 2/beats me

Scotland has the highest rate of drug-induced deaths in Europe, and I live in one of the two worst hit cities by this. So getting my hands on Naloxone to have with me just in case has been on my list of things to do for a while now. Executive dysfunction has just gotten in the way. 1/idk man

Subverting them is definitely so much of the fun. Like playing a game with friends for the sake of playing the game can definitely be fun. But sometimes the game is secondary to the company.
My friends and I were actually playing a horror game of all things.

Playing a videogame with friends for a couple hours and making each other laugh so hard you can't breathe is genuinely and truly priceless experience that I hope everyone gets an equivalent of. (I know videogames arent exactly everyone's thing)

Maybe the solution to my single-ness is just to go look lost at a Hozier concert and hope a kind cottagecore queer femme takes pity on me.

On a similar note, "your first sketch/idea is never your best" is one of the worst pieces of advice I've ever gotten.

I wasted a lot of time and energy forcing myself past concepts that I felt strongly about because I was made to believe a better one was out there. Often there just wasn't one.
