like i personally do not like or engage with those sorts of things online at all, and this thread isnt meant to be a personal endorsement of them - i literally just avoid things i dont want to see. it is that easy

of course there is a massive difference between engaging in those things online or with consenting and willing adults and practicing those things with people who cant consent (animals, children, oftentimes siblings) - the latter deserve to be called out and prevented, the first harms nobody else

fundamentally: if you dont like or agree with something online, nobody is forcing you to interact with it. we live in a time where online space curation has never been more easy and accessible. use it!!! theres no point in starting crusades about someone elses kinks when they are confined to fiction

it could be queer nsfw, it could be niche fetish content, or it could be paraphilias that are taboo but ultimately confined to fiction - people consider different things "problematic" and how the fascists win is by dividing people along arbitrary concepts like whats problematic and what isnt

i used a purposefully vague term on purpose because depending on the person it has a very different definition, but the point is that nothing "problematic" should be censored, you curate your space

like the newest additions to mario’s moveset are COSMETIC and link’s barely count as changes whatsoever. samus and kirby have been using movesets based on games that are over 30 years old now

outside of them, so much of ness’ stuff isn’t even his to begin with and fox/cap are completely made up

like it’s insane to me that the smash franchise has been around for decades and most of the original characters (mario, link, samus, kirby) have almost the exact same movesets as the first entry in the series which in turn are incredibly outdated to the modern characters

i feel like it would be cool if the next smash bros entry was more of a “spinoff” where they massively reduce the roster to the original cast (like 64 and maybe melee) but make up for it by completely revamping the movesets of the characters to be more faithful and/or unique

like time and time again they keep just. walking into wall after wall
