I had been drawing river segments on the cpu to a texture, and then reading that texture on the gpu. I changed it to draw river segments on the gpu directly.

Since I'm thinking about it, here's the network of geologic test holes drilled by the Nebraska state geological survey since the 1930s. Detailed lithological and stratigraphic logs. The goal not always achieved, was to drill to the Pennsylvanian in the east, to the base of the Cenozoic in the west.

My first time there I was unprepared for that. We arrived in downtown Tokyo on the fast train from the airport. We wait for the local train to our hotel stop. We got on, suitcases in hand, then 1000 people get on. I end up lying on my back with my partner on top of me. Nothing else to do but laugh.

If you go to Tokyo definitely check out the fish market! And a visit through Akihabara shops is well worth it. Watch out for the local trains. You might think they are 'full' but then 4x more people will get on. It's a riot!
