Also i wish i could turn off the battle voice acting without turning off voice acting completely. Not used to having a non-silent protagonist in Dragon Quest, and him constantly shouting “Not Today!” every time he dodges wears thin after a while.

I don’t like the fact that you encounter parties of monsters in this version and are still expected to adventure alone. Like they do give you the ability to strike multiple enemies, but taking multiple hits from multiple enemies can be wrecking.

Not being able to pet the dog, cat, or pokemon is a point off any game this applies to.

So apparently I was just on the cusp of being able to explore when i posted this. That said, there are better ways of gating exploration outside of “you should do so and so first!” Especially if you are going to put tantalizing things visibly out of reach!

Hell i remember Sonic Team making the entire Sonic gamegear library unlockables in Sonic Adventure DX. Or the first 2 Shenmue games having Outrun, Space Harrier, Hang On and After Burner II games you could mess around with in the world.

This was so common in the 6th gen but died out with 360/PS3

Simplified designs. Many manga artists simplify their character designs so that they are easier to draw repetitively, and backgrounds disappear in action shots. I’ve been reading a lot of manga in prep for my own project and I’m still amazed how a lot are done solo for weekly publications!
