Hirabami is just kind of a flailing thing, I fought enough to make its long sword but I’m still not really sure what it’s gonna do half the time, and it’s always floating and that’s a sin

The Wilds base game roster is really solid. I don’t think I hate anything except Hirabami and Seregios but Seregios’ problem is more it’s in the Plains and is fast and boy howdy if there’s a fight where I’d like to have all of my frames

The rest of it isn’t bad, Scarlet Forest is pretty rough too but nothing tanks that frame rate like that first area

It really is a marvel of programming that the grassy area of Windward Plains will run on Steamdeck and it won’t even really kick the fans up. The frame rate is a nightmare but it’s the only section in all of this just has been terrible

Zoh Shia being kind of a baby mode Fatalis was an interesting choice. Really neat for the “lore” I guess but not a fight that had me on the edge of my seat

Went sicko mode and went all the way through to Zoh Shia in Wilds so I can finally “play” the game. It seems like it’ll be a little straightforward to get to the end of High Rank but I can’t say as I mind being able to run through stuff quicker

It drives me nuts how expensive the various Nintendo console controllers are. I don’t need any of em but SNES and Gamecube games feel atrocious with Switch controllers

I ended up putting a lot of focus on my job. I think that’s probably easier for me since I work at a school but I can put the effort into the environment and for the staff and that’s been keeping me going for a good couple years now.

Kinda wanna pull the trigger on MHWilds to play on Steamdeck since it apparently finally runs which is good enough for me, but with the rumored Switch 2 port I’m a bit torn on whether that’ll be worth it or not

Like it’s got the opposite problem of SMTV where V was fun to play but the story just was there I guess, though Vengeance was a huge improvement. The characters of Soul Hackers 2 and the gameplay systems of SMTVV would make a killer game.

Still thinking about how Soul Hackers 2 has so much of what I want from a SMT game; adult characters with adult problems with the broader story arc about how those problems intersect with the societal existential dread. It’s just a shame the game part is so bare bones and disappointing

Paranormasight was great for the price point I got it at. It’s a bit short but the visual style and presentation was really cool and the soundscape is varied enough as not to get grating. I wouldn’t say it does anything groundbreaking if if you’re a horror VN guy it’s worth a look
