There is a large seasonal cycle on this graph and a long-term decreasing trend for days during the melt season from May to November. 2024 is current an outlier for this time of year in mid October.

Although the freeze-up is well underway for many regions of the #Arctic, this is not the case across the Canadian Archipelago which is clearly a huge outlier in our satellite-era data record... Yikes!
